The first time we interviewed Meg, we weren’t sure that she was the right candidate for the Social Media role.Megan Penney made it to the final interview, we really liked her BUT we made the tough choice to move forward with someone who had more experience. She took the decision well and was extremely professional, positive and understanding. Meg...💌 stayed in touch👉 sent content ideas our way ❤️ supported our social media account 📸 and actually starting making content for usA few months later, the chosen candidate didn’t work out; they decided to move on - it was a mutual agreement between us.What did we do?We reached out to Meg.We trialled 1 month with her to see how things would work. In 1 month Meg...📱 took us viral (twice)⚡️ brought great energy🤩 came up with amazing social concepts❤️ forged strong bonds with our community Meg was a perfect fit for luna.Meg has been with luna for nearly 2 years now and sadly today was her last day as she moves onto focus on her new Wedding content business and UGC career - something I am super excited for her to go and do.Meg transformed the social game for luna and has been a HUGE asset to the team - it's bittersweet to see her go but her determination and work ethic means she will smash it. Moral of the story - a rejection isn't final.👉 Stay professional👉 Keep connected👉 Be politeYou never know what might happen!

This is a great example of how maintaining a positive and professional attitude can lead to unexpected opportunities. Meg's persistence and willingness to stay connected paid off in the end. It's important to remember that rejection is not always a reflection of your abilities, and to keep an open mind and positive attitude towards future opportunities. Congratulations to Meg on her new ventures, and to luna for finding a valuable team member.

I’ve worked with teens for the last 3 years. One mind blowing thing I’ve learnt from my this community is that…It’s the small things that cost nothing which make a world of difference to finding a connection with them:❌ not the most expensive holidays ❌ not the fanciest parties ❌ not the best presents We can get wrapped up in wanting “the best” for teens, but actually what they want:❤️ your time👂to be heardA few things to consider below this weekend to start making a change.👉 Follow Jas Schembri-Stothart for more teen insights straight like this from the luna community

Being kind doesn’t make you a pushover. If anything it makes you a better:❤️ Leader❤️ Team mate❤️ Role model❤️ Employee❤️ Friend❤️ Partner❤️ Family memberKindness is a non-negotiable for me.Whether that’s how I...🗣 Deliver feedback (positive & constructive)👋 Interact with people (on a good & bad day)💌 Respond to messages (even if it takes ages to reply)💗 Work with our members (no matter how stressed I am)😭 Have to deal with rejection (and want to curl up & cry)I will always be kind, but never a pushover. It literally costs nothing to do but is worth so much. As a Leader that values kindness, Victoria Repa's cheatsheet below really spoke to me.It’s 15 easy things ANYONE can do to be kinder. So ask yourself how many of these do you do and how many can you do to be a little kinder ?♻️ It's time start embracing kindness as a strength, not a weakness - reshare this to get the message out.********************🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart for relatable Leadership vents like this as I build luna ⚡️

Sky Brown: a REAL role model for today’s teen girls.Unfortunately, many (not all) teen girls are looking up to more and more social media influencers as role models. Don’t get me wrong, A LOT of hard work goes into building and maintain a following but are these people true role models for young girls to be inspired by?Sky Brown was already a huge inspiration to girls getting into sport (and especially skateboarding) before her bronze medal at the Olympics yesterday. But a few things stood out that make her even more of a fantastic role model.❤️ Determination: Sky posted ahead of the final to say that she was not at 100%, but would give it 1000%. Whether it’s injury, periods or mental health, this is what girls need to hear✨ Positivity: More than any other sport, Sky and her competitors (almost all aged 13 - 18) compete with a smile on their face and congratulate each other no matter what the result💪 Resilience: she suffered knee ligament damage 3 months ago and a dislocated shoulder just 2 weeks ago, but she didn't give upWorking with this age group day in day out, I see all of these characteristics in the luna community but I still think we can do more to show them that:📚 the world doesn’t end at the first setback🫶 you can still give something your best that day, even if you’re not feeling your best🤝 it’s healthy to be competitive but even better to be collaborative It’s brilliant to see Sky representing all the amazing things about teen girls on the biggest stage, she is the kind of role model we need to amplify more.❤️ like if you agree with this message ***********🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart as I build luna, the world’s first health and wellbeing app for teenage girls ⚡️

Happy work wife = happy co-founding life. The question I get asked most on every podcast, interview & more is how Jo Goodall and I have created such a strong partnership. I think it comes down to a few things but mainly: trust, boundaries, communication and being true friends, as well as business partners. Here's the J & J secret sauce to surviving any Co-Founder relationship explained below 👇 1️⃣. Clear roles & responsibilities ↳ Run your respective teams but be there (no matter the time of day - Jo even has a separate notification tone for me!) to support and challenge the others’ thinking if needed. 2️⃣. Trust↳ Trust each other to make decisions independently. As the company scales, you won’t have time to be on every call together. Life also throws curveballs.3️⃣. Feedback openly, honestly and regularly↳ Schedule in time to feedback and challenge each other. If something feels wrong pick up the phone & talk, these conversations can be hard but they're important.4️⃣. Make time for reflection↳ Ringfence time weekly to write down wins, no matter how big or small. Take time every quarter to reflect on broader goals and progress. We have a end of week catch up where we do this and note everything down.5️⃣. Assume positive intent↳ Address misunderstandings quickly and with empathy - they're going to happen!6️⃣. Encourage each other to take breaks↳ Prevent burnout by encouraging each other to rest and recharge. If you spot them flagging tell them to go home, take a break or go on holiday!7️⃣. Be open & vulnerable↳ Don’t hesitate to ask for support or advice when needed - if you feel sh*t (happens monthly for us!), they need to be the first ones to know!8️⃣. Do fun things together!↳ Maintain a lighthearted atmosphere to keep the work environment enjoyable. It’s a long game.👉 Comment anything else you'd add to this list***************🧠Follow us Jas Schembri-Stothart & Jo Goodall as we change the world for teenage girls with our app luna ⚡️

🩸 What do you wish you'd been told?🩸This messaging from Bodyform in their most recent advert about periods is the entire motivation behindluna. In 2024, far too many women and girls are going through their health journey, with little to no information about periods, or perhaps even worse in today's world, entirely inaccurate information.Bodyform reports that:1️⃣ in3️⃣woman agree that "looking back I feel misinformed about how a woman's body works and how periods actually work".Education about periods needs to start before we get them. This means at the tween and teen age group.Yet this segment of society is STILL NOT getting the level of information and support they want about this topic from traditional education systems OR other leading health apps out there. They do not cater for this audience. Here's luna's proof using a sample of 7 questions asked just yesterday on the app by tweens & teens:1️⃣ How do you know if you got your period?2️⃣ Is it normal to have discharge all the time?3️⃣ If you drink lemon water does it delay your period?4️⃣ I was told that girls aren’t supposed to use tampons. This true?5️⃣ What's it like starting a period? I havent & I'm scared to start it?6️⃣ Is there any way I can practice using tampons off my period without getting friction burn?7️⃣ I'm scared I'm going to leak everywhere on my clothes on the chairs everywhere and I am scared to open a pad at school?EVERY🩸SINGLE🩸 WOMAN I've spoken to aboutlunatells me they wish they had luna when they were younger.Thank you and credit Dr Fiona Pathiraja-Møller for bringing this to the front of my feed this morning.Let’s raise a generation who won’t have to wish they’d been told about periods. So:👉 if you're a parent give your daughterluna👉 if you're a school consider our platform👉 if you're a brand let's talk partnership♻️ Reshare this post if this resonates, whether you have a period or not.********************🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart, Co-founder of luna - the fastest growing health and wellbeing startup for teen girls. Rejection sucks, especially when it comes from investors. However, not every “no” has to be negative. A few weeks ago, I was tagged in a post by Angel investor Tony E. Kula looking to meet more female founders (thanks Emmie Faust for the tag)!I knew full well that Tony focused primarily on B2B investments, but since he openly talked about his daughters I sent him message explaining what luna is and how it benefits both parents and teens. While outside of his usual thesis, Tony agreed to a call.I gave it my best energy and the call went well - we ran overtime (always a good sign) and the conversation flowed. I followed up with our data room but unfortunately it was a “no”. Tony’s message didn’t make feel bad, instead I felt energised, motivated and satisfied with his message; it read: "Thanks for this professional reaction!Sure you'regoing to win! And I love your posts on LinkedIn.Please keep me on your newsletter list. You never know."Moral of the story, if someone says “no”, as hard as it is, (try) not to take it personally. Instead, use it as an opportunity to:1.🤝 Build a connection 2.🗞 Add them to your newsletter3.❤️ Support and engage in their content 4.🗣 Ask for intros to others in their network5.👏 Seek feedback on your pitch and product6. 🙏 Show appreciation for their time and insights7. ⏩ Share investment deals you think they’d be interested inI'm definitely not a pro, but trying to get better!Anyone have other coping mechanisms or suggestions to share? Always keen to improve👇*************************🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart for relatable founder stories like this as I build luna ⚡️

Whether you're a 3, 37, or 370 person business - read this message 👇Prior to my life as a Founder I worked in People & Operations Consulting. We were often the:🚩 the last team to be consulted on major projects1️⃣ the first to be cut when budgets had to be slashed 💗 the team bringing the most value (bias opinion I know)Yet people are the heart and soul of any business - so why are startups, scale-ups and large companies still ignoring their most important asset. Here are 9 things any company should be doing to keep their people engaged, happy and productive.1. ⏭ Move people on: if they don't fit the business culture2. 🙏 Be there: help them get where you want them to be 3. 🤝 Reward them: not everything has to be cash based4. 🖼 Put frameworks in place: don't have to be complex5. 🗣 Make time for feedback: positive & constructive6.👂 Listen: people have good ideas, consider them7. 🌱 Invest in them: doesn't have to be expensive 8. 💌 Lead from the top: practice what you preach9.🚀 Give them opportunity: challenge themThanks Chris Donnelly for reminding us to People & Talent back at the top of business agendas.♻️ Reshare if this post resonated👉 Comment anything you'd add to this list************************🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart for relatable founder stories like this as I build luna ⚡️

Nearly 50% of teen girls would rather avoid swimming on their period entirely, than use a period product. Does this tell us more needs to be done to educate teen girls on how to use these products?or Does more need to be done to encourage girls to not give up on activities just because of a period? The answer likely lies in a combination of both. 1. 🩸 Education about the variety of period products available can help girls feel more confident and comfortable managing their periods in all situations2. 📗 Fostering a positive, supportive environment that encourages girls to participate in activities regardless of their periods can help break down the hesitation luna app does both of these things. The platform empowers tween and teen girls to make informed choices, maintain their lifestyle without period worries and enjoy their summer holidays - worry free!👉 Tag a parent, brand or organisation that needed to know this today********************🧠Follow me Jas Schembri-Stothart, Co-founder of luna - the fastest growing health and wellbeing startup for teen girls.
