What is the average grade to get into U of T? ›

Around an 85% average is a requirement for U of T; however, each program has a different average required for admission. The average entering Grade at U of T is over 91% making it very competitive to apply!

Student enrolment (Fall 2023–24)

U of T had 17,203 new full-time students entering our First Entry* undergraduate programs in Fall 2023-24: 9,551 at our St. George Campus. 4,224 at our Mississauga Campus.

Reading week: This is a week-long break in February, right in the middle of the winter term.

The Summer Session runs from May to August (with a total of 12 weeks possible for course content) and has two short terms, a “First” and “Second”. The first term runs from early May to mid-June, the other from early July to mid-August. Days are also allotted for exam preparation and for writing exams.

However, the average GPA of accepted students is often much higher than this, typically sitting around 3.7. As such, University of Toronto applicants must ensure that they have strong grades in order to be competitive.

UofT is harder to uphold a high 3.5+ GPA in as there's generally just a higher workload compared to other universities which is more rigorous. That being said, it gets easier in the upper years when you figure out your life.

Does UofT care about summer school? ›

Courses taken through an institution approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education (or equivalent) are accepted, including online courses, summer school courses and night school courses.

Full-time Status

A student enrolled in 3.0 credits or more in the Fall/Winter Session is full-time. A student enrolled in 1.5 credits or more in the Summer Session is full-time.

Yes, if you continue with this average through your high schoolyears, you are likely to be accepted at UofT and McGill, as long as your SAT's are also good. Your marks and the content of your program are important to university entrance people. Your marks are very good.

Not surprisingly, Toronto has one of the most competitive acceptance rates in Canada, at nearly 43% (meaning roughly 43 students are accepted per 100 that apply). For international students whose first language is English, some programs see acceptance rates of as high as 60%.

A passing mark is 60%. Cumulative GPA includes courses completed since September 1998 only; for previous results, refer to additional transcript information attached. The passing grade is D for physiology only and 60% in all other courses.

With a GPA of 3.83, UT Austin requires you to be near the top of your class, and well above average. You'll need mostly A's, ideally with several AP or IB classes to help show your preparation at a college level.
